Thank you Jon and to the GM Team. This has been an amazing program and is not just a weight loss program but a road map to living a healthy life. It would be great to see how this can be presented as such. I know a lot of not overweight people that could really benefit of this information to reduce or eliminate many health issues.

I remember hearing that we should be having a GM breakfast within 1.5 hrs of waking. My level of appetite has certainly changed during the program and I can’t remember the last time I felt “famished”. I am “just not that hungry”. I really did have a fairly healthy diet, despite my overweight. Once I do get around to eating it is usually a green smoothie. Should I still have something in the morning even if I’m not hungry? And I am not having junk food cravings.

    • Nadia Harper -Gabriel Method Coach says:

      Hi Sylvia,

Listen to your body and if not hungry then listen to that. If you are not having cravings and you are feeling balanced then just listen when not hungry. A green smoothie is a wonderful way to start – try to make it GM friendly by including omega 3s (flax or chia) and protein (nut butter, nuts, seeds). Continue to listen to your body if things change. If you have a time where you do start to feel unbalanced throughout the day then make sure you are having a GM friendly breakfast.

Jon – I went to the endocrinologist as you suggested to keep up on the blood work to see if I can lower my Levothyroxine meds and also to talk to him about being open to use natural methods to try to reverse my Hashimoto’s. Disappointingly he explained that the antibodies attacking my thyroid are genetic and no matter what I do, I will have these Antibodies in my blood because it was passed on to me.

I am looking for a new doctor as we speak, but would love to ask these two questions:

    1) what do you think or know of this idea that having these antibodies are “genetic” and passed on?

2)Disappointingly, not much moved in regards to my TSH count which is what this doctor says he keeps an eye on to regulate the medication levels from last August pre-GM and this month after losing 34 pounds. I know this is likely a long journey and 3 months of healing my digestion is only a small dent in the success of this reversal, but since I have never done this before, I am just not sure at what pace to expect to see results in my blood work. I guess I expected to see some more significant movement. Would love your thoughts on how to think about this.

    • Admin says:

      Hi Marisol,

We get genetic propensities passed down from generation to generation, but they’re just propensities for various different things. They can have an influence on us, but nothing is really written in stone with it, in terms of passing down antibodies with our genetics.

This 5 week program has been great. I have only incorporated some things so far over the last five weeks especially the mediation at some point each day/night. I have noticed that my body has changed (tightened) even though there hasn’t been any consistent weight loss. I know that the emotional area is where I need to focus further. Just heard the answer to a question that confirms this.

  8. Marisol Rocha says:

early on after the detox when I was starting to lose weight, I felt so thin already (through the visualizations?) even though I was not even 10% close to my goal. Then after losing 20-50% I have had days where I have felt “big” again. Would love Jon to address this intriguing “perspective?” Is this common and what drives these feelings?

    • Admin says:

      Hi Marisol,

Be patient. Losing weight by addressing the real issues is not a straight-line process. There are times when you’ll feel a plateau. As long as you’re not having junk food cravings or feeling like it’s hard to maintain the weight that you’ve lost, then it’s a natural part of the process. Let your body stay at this new weight for a while, and then it will get ready to make another move.

I am traveling home to visit family in Lima, Peru in a couple of weeks. will be staying there for 10 days and I am a bit nervous about my eating only because I cannot have live greens there or raw vegetables as my gut bacteria is not used to things there and we get stomach issues if we eat these.

The diet in Peru is very rice, sauce and potato based, so I would love some suggestions on what best to focus on from Jon as I go to so many family dinners and lunches in a non-gluten free/dairy free environment.

    • Nadia Harper -Gabriel Method Coach says:

      Hi Marisol,

Bring some good quality green powders with you as well as things like digestive enzymes, chia seeds, flax seeds and probiotics. You can use these to supplement and increase the nutritional value of anything you are eating.

If you can, also bring apple cider vinegar to drink in your water.. and make use of fresh lemons/limes squeezed into you water when there.

Make the best choices with what is available to you there.

If you have a dehydrator, you can also make a bunch of crackers and wraps and other foods to bring with you.
