I purchased your “Green Me Up Jonny” – Super Green Drink Mix. Is this considered “protein powder” ?? Is this what I can use in any recipe that calls for “protein powder” … or do I purchase a product labeled that? Also, do they market a specific “probiotic” (not certain I am spelling this word correctly) … I believe I am to include that into my daily intake also.
    Thanks for your continued support!

    • Denaleigh -Gabriel Method Team says:

      Hi Bev,
The Green Me Up Jonny is not a Protein powder – its basically a blend of as many superfood ingredients in a concentrated form – to help out with ensuring your body is getting all the nutrition it needs. A protein powder can be bought online or from a good health food store – and is a wonderful way for you to increase your protein intake – particularly for vegetarians and vegans. Here is a link to the brand that Jon recommends – that includes some information :
      http://www.gardenoflife.com/Products-for-Life/Foundational-Nutrition/RAW-Protein.aspx
A good probiotic will actually contain many thousands of different strains of probiotic – that is what our guts are missing. The Green Me Up Jonny that you have purchased contains probiotics as well.
      I hope this helps.

      Hi Shawn,
So sorry about that – we appear to have had a technical glitch – we are working on fixing this and it should be up and running in a few days.

I put raw kale in my green smoothie, but I read in the support group that raw kale is not a good idea. Should I stop putting the kale in my smoothie?

    • Denaleigh -Gabriel Method Team says:

      Hi Angelicamom,
It ‘s okay to have kale in your smoothies every now and then but best not to have it every day. Perhaps have Kale in your smoothies once or twice a week?
      Kind regards

      • Ivette Mena says:

Hello! Why is raw kale not recommended to eat it that frequently? I didn’t know that and I’ve been eating it a lot with other greens as a salad…

        • Denaleigh -Gabriel Method Team says:

          Hi Ivette,
Kale, broccoli and spinach have something in them called goitrogens which, it has been said, in excess amounts can interfere with the thyroid. While its not a great idea to eat too much of the same thing every day – variety is much better for you anyway – Jon believes that the amounts of goitrogens in these foods are so minimal that the affect would also be minimal.
          Kind regards
          Den
