I am wondering what you think of MCT-oil. Do you think it is a good thing to supplement with (outside of coconut oil)?

  2. Heather Waring says:

I was unable to do the cleanse last week so just put it all back a week, did the pre-cleanse last week and started the cleanse this morning.

Have just had lovely juice which was:
    celery
    2 tomatoes
    cucumber
    spinach
    2 carrots
    lemon juice

    delicious and drinking it slowly.

    • gabrielmethod says:

      Hi Heather,
Great to hear that you have decided to do the cleanse. Juice sounds yummy. Keep us posted on your progress!
      Best Regards
      Den – The GM Team

  3. Heather Waring says:

Is it OK to put avocado in a juice?

  4. Rosemary Tait says:

    Hi,
My boyfriend is doing the cleanse with me. He was already very slim before we started the pre cleanse and cleanse. Now that we are over a week into the process he has already lost weight which obviously isn’t ideal. Do you have any suggestions about how the cleanse could be altered to avoid him looking like a skeleton by the end of the process?!
    Thanks Rosie

  5. Allison Miller says:

    Dear Jon and Nadia,
What do you think of longer cleanses — for example — doing this cleanse for 10 days instead of 5? Thank you for your input, Allison

    • Jon Gabriel says:

      Hi Allison,

For your first cleanse, we strongly recommend that you do it for just 5 days. Once you have more experience detoxing and understanding how your body handles the detox process, then a longer detox might be beneficial, provided you get the support you need.

      • Allison Miller says:

Thank you so much! Do you think you will ever offer a longer cleanse? Thank you again for doing this one. The support has made all the difference.

        • gabrielmethod says:

          Hi Allison,

That is a great question and at this time we are not sure. If you feel like you want to go longer you can continue on your own and use these resources for support.

          Best Regards
          The GM Team

  6. Samira Beck says:

    Dear Jon

How about stevia instead fruit in juice?

    With best wishes

    Samira

  7. Lori says:

yesterday was day 1 for me and my husband and I had forgotten about the omega shake and I was feeling hungery by 4pm. after last nights webinar I was reminded about the shake so I made one using coconut water, cinnamon and chia seeds….what a difference that made in how I felt. Today, day 2 I have had the shake but I also added the Johnney greens and that was great too. The tea with the coconut oil is definitely great too. I usually dread these first 2-3 days of a cleanse, but this GM cleanse has gotten me through day 2 quite easily. thanks, Jon and Nadia

  8. Susana Sampaio says:

Hello everyone! Finishing day 1 with no headhaches, hunger or lack of energy. Which is amazing!! The only thing i’m feeling are swollen ankles and some pain in my wrists and knees which I now understand to be normal!! Am loving my broth (just dissapionted to have heated in microwave!).
I think the pre-cleansing week was really important and look forward to the rest of the week!

Thanks to All fellow detoxers for sharing their experiences and specially to Jon & Nadia & Team for this amazing program. See u tomorrow! XXX Susy

    • Nadia says:

      Hi Susy,

Sounds like what you are experiencing is normal and that you are doing really well. Don’t worry that you used the microwave … now you know that the microwave destroys the nutrients you and can avoid it for the rest of the cleanse.

Thanks for the kind words, see you in our next webinar!

  9. Johanne Harrigan says:

Well to this point I was feeling pretty good but not so much anymore. I made green juice for the first time today and made the mistake of making one with carrot. I could feel the sugar running in my bloodstream. I drank some slowly but do not want to finish it. Jon & Nadia you were right! I will make another juice later with no sugar in it. I am getting that foggy head you warned us about. I will try and persevere as you said the first 24 hours are the worst. The broth is my saving grace!

    • Nadia says:

      Hi Johanne,

Great you are figuring this out and listening to your body. Support yourself and be gentle with yourself these first days. Enjoy the broth and try to get some omega shakes or omega oils in too. They will really help.

      Nadia

  10. Phyllis Goble says:

I’m enjoying hearing how others are doing on Day 1. As for me, so far so go, except that the headache has begun. I was kind of hoping that it might not happen to me, since I eat fairly clean, but I guess not as clean as I thought. 🙂

I’m absolutely loving the tea with coconut oil! Keeping it to two or three cups, and will continue to have it even after the cleanse is done. I’m hoping that’s OK to do.

    Good luck, everyone!

    • Nadia says:

      Hi Phyllis,

Headaches are very common, especially these first days. Experiencing detox symptoms shows that your body is in a place to be able to release some old toxic matter.

Great that your diet is already fairly clean, keep going with that after the cleanse. And certainly you can enjoy the teas once the fast is broken.

  11. Susanne says:

When in India, my feet were very swollen. I was recommended to drink coconut water daily, and it really helped very quickly…

  12. KAY PATERSON OAKES says:

Hello everyone. I’m on day three today. Decided to start on Saturday to get the 1st two over with. They weren’t as challenging as expected.
I began my day at 5 am and played the Visualisations for 30 minutes before starting my day. Used them in the sauna as well!!! Today has been amazing, can’t believe I am not hungry. it is almost 7 pm here in the UK. I have only managed three juice drinks, and do not feel hungry for the Omega drink and broth. I will have it a little later though.
Previously when I tried a detox have never been able to see it through.

It is so good reading everyones input and thank you Jon, Nadia and the team, for the wonderful webinars and keeping up with all our questions. Blessings, Kay.

    • Nadia says:

      Hi Kay,

Thanks so much for sharing. What you are experiencing is really nice for others to hear… that it does get easier by about day 3.

Let us know how the rest of the week goes for you, you are doing great!

  13. Deborah Freisinger says:

Here is a tip for omega 3 drink with flax seeds. Yesterday they all floated to the bottom and it was like swallowing them in one big gulp. Not particularly appetizing. I realized I didn’t grind them enough. Today I ground them very fine and it was great. Plus I stirred the glass each time before I drank it. Gosh this has been “easy and effortless” so dear. I am amazed.

    • Nadia says:

      Hi Deborah,

Great tip, thanks for sharing. Yes, stirring the omega shakes is a really nice way to keep them from getting clumpy.

Wonderful you are doing so well, see you on the next webinar!

  14. Ann Krake says:

Hi all – I’m in day 2 (started Sunday) and feeling SO good about how well I’m taking care of myself! Thank you for the motivation and all the great support. I think it helps that so many of us are doing this together. As I’m juicing or doing the visualizations, I think about how many others of us are doing exactly the same thing exactly when I am. It’s fun and my body is already thanking me for taking the bad carbs away.

One question: Is it going to be possible to get Jon’s detox recipes in written form? I have watched a few of the videos, which are great, but would like to have the recipes for when I do this again for myself.

Thank you again – this is exactly what I needed at this time in my life! Warmly,
    Ann

    • gabrielmethod says:

Hi Ann, we’ve been adding the recipes in written form to the How-To Videos page. You’ll see Download Recipe in red below the videos where they have been added. Hope that helps! Best, Sherri, GM Team

  15. bv@megaserve.net says:

Started detox this morning and everything is fine. I would like to know if we are allowed to use honey in the tea.

    • gabrielmethod says:

      Hi BV,

It is best to use a tiny bit of natural stevia leaves if you need to add a little sweetness during the Detox. I hope this helps!

      Best Regards
      The Gabriel Method Team

  16. Zulema Seguel says:

Given that I have a tight schedule, it would be really helpful if the daily online webinars covered the main points at the beginning and then went into questions (as opposed to mixing questions in). I want to make sure I get the important daily input from John and Nadia, even if I can’t listen to the entire webinar. Thanks.

  17. Nandan Cox says:

I am elliminating sooooooo much. I have been at work today, following the schedule and doing my utmost to support myself. All went surprisingly well with juicing. I had hungry periods but just kept remembering the visualizations and taking my juices and soups etc. But then something bad happened with my boss and I just couldn’t stay in the work environment. This cleanse is working on soooo many levels in me. So to support myself even more I will see a wonderful friend and councillor tomorrow to help let go of some emotional toxins. I would like to tune into the webinar that I couldn’t get to today? Will do the evening visualization instead and have an early night.

    • gabrielmethod says:

      Hi Nandan,
The replay of the webinar will be available very soon. Hope you had a good night’s sleep and feel better tomorrow.
      Best Regards
      Den – The GM Team

  18. Nandan Cox says:

    where is today’s webinar?

    • gabrielmethod says:

      Hi Nandan,
The replay will be available on this page, check again tomorrow – it should be there for you to listen to by then.
      Best regards
      Den – The GM Team

  19. Marisol Rocha says:

I put a 1/4 tsp of sea salt into my 32oz. water bottle today as I was feeling light headed and felt I needed the re-inforcement. My husband got worried and told me that I should not do that because then the water would not flush through my digestive track. He is concerned about water retention and wanted me to double check with you: What are the effects (pos/neg) of adding sea salt to my water? And of the 3 liters/day I need to be drinking is there a limit on how many I should add salt to? Please explain as Jon often mentions flavoring his water.

  20. Marisol Rocha says:

There has been a lot of wonderful questions about sprouting nuts over the last week. I just want to clarify, is it okay to use sprouted, ground almonds, and walnuts in our juices or does that create too much bulk for our digestive track during these 5 cleanse days?

    • Marisol Rocha says:

Also, I had raw, peeled macadamia nuts in the house and threw a few into one of my juices today as it tends to satiate.
      My follow up questions are:
-Are these nuts okay to use during the cleanse?
-What are their properties to be aware of?
-Do these need to be soaked in water over night?

    • Jon Gabriel says:

      Hi Marisol,

The purpose of the juices is to get as much nutrition into your body as possible that doesn’t require digestion. Ground nuts require quit a bit of digestion work. Instead, try coconut oil, flax seed oil, chi seed oil or hemp seed oil as these will all make you feel satiated and give you the right kind of fats, without over working your digestion.

  21. Marisol Rocha says:

Unfortunately I cannot use lemon during this detox and I like the idea of its alkaline-ing properties. Jon suggested Apple Cider Vinegar in replacement of lemon for me, does the vinegar also alkaline the water?

  22. Marisol Rocha says:

I was not able to find fresh Turmeric at my health food store. Is it okay to use it in spice version (in a glass spice jar)?
If so, what is the equivalent of 1 inch of fresh turmeric in teaspoons of the spice version? I want to try the Anti Inflammatory Juice tomorrow!

  23. B Jill Runnion says:

I am wondering when preparing the Flax or Chia seed shake if they are ground first or kept whole. Always thought they would just pass through digestion without receiving the benefits if they were not ground first.

    • Jon Gabriel says:

      Hi Jill,

Chia seeds will digest if you soak them in water for 10-20 minutes. Flax seeds needs to be either ground or soaked over night.

      • B Jill Runnion says:

Excellent after soaking and adding the cinnamon and salt that was yummy. Thanks for the great suggestions. Love being part of this detox process with so much support and direction. I also felt the need to make a little gazpacho as suggested if bulk was needed. Didn’t need much before I felt full. Thanks again.

  24. Marisol Rocha says:

I made my Detox Broth this evening (still cooking 1 hour to go!) and when I began I was following the verbal recipe mentioned in Jon’s video. He gives examples of root vegetables including Beets and Carrots. However during the call tonight I believe he answered a question about another red vegetable being okay for the soup, “as long as there are no carrots or beets.” This concerned me. I know you cannot fail, but I wanted to double check if I heard correct. Should I be concerned now that my soup if cooking with sweet potato, 1/2 BEET, 2 CARROTS, chard, kale, collard greens, butternut squash, Brussel sprouts, broccoli, garlic and onion?

    • Marisol Rocha says:

Also, I was so starving by 9pm and the soup was only 1 hour into cooking, so I pulled out a bowl of broth and it was a bit sweet – meaning I could definitely taste the 1/2 beet root in there. My follow up question is:
I used a decent amount of Sea Salt, 1 Tsp Coconut Oil and a conservative sprinkle of Cayenne to season the taste and balance out the sweet as I don’t enjoy savory meals too sweet. I worry about the sea salt’s effect on the absorption of fluids. Should I be concerned when seasoning my broth on the amount of Sea Salt used? If so, what are the salt parameters we should be following?

    • Jon Gabriel says:

      Hi Marisol,

That was for a juice, not the soup. Carrots, beets are fine for broth.

  25. Marisol Rocha says:

I have spices in my cupboard (ie, Turmeric and Cinnamon) that I must have purchased a couple of years ago and have not quite finished them. They have no expiration dates. How long do spices tend to last? Happy to buy new ones, but I don’t use those flavors often so if I can leverage the ones I have great, but not at the expense of having their nutrient qualities work for me! Please advise.

  26. Susan Livesley says:

I am so frustrated I have been trying to access ‘day 1’ getting started, with no success. Can you help please.

  28. Jody Plecas says:

Also need to say that I am finding the style and layout of this program excellent for me. Thanks to Jon and all support staff!

  29. Deborah Freisinger says:

Does lime work the same way for alkalinizing your body as lemon? Also, a tip for drinking juice…use a straw. I have been doing that since I started juicing a few months ago. It is easier to sip, you can drink it slowly and it is easier on the taste buds.

  30. Jody Plecas says:

Id problem solved! I just listened. That was OK. Thanks very much for answering my question on Stress Test. I guess I need to change my appointment!

  31. Angela Vogt says:

I have gum disease that I can’t find anyone that says i can stop it or even better yet – heal the gum disease. Will the cleanse do anything for this? is there anything else you can suggest? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

    • Jon Gabriel says:

Hi Angela, cleanses help kill pathogens and unfriendly bacteria all over your body. So great for fighting gum disease.

      • Angela Vogt says:

Thanks Jon, you’ve been super busy on the msg replying to everyone.

Just wanted to say thank you – this is a great cleanse (my first one) and the visualisations are working (I say will a hint of disbelief) – even though I know logically this should work with all that I have read – seeing the reality of the visualisations having a great impact on my head space has been amazoid!

I gave up smoking 364 days ago, then gave up sugar 7.5 months ago – I still couldn’t shift the weight – despite – green juicing, no processed foods, cooking from scratch and no bad oils etc I have been left wondering what was going on in my body.

This – your webinars, the information you are both sharing has been an eye opener on my hormones and metabolism… I’ll let you know what happens ….. I’m very intrigued.

Awesome journey – just going to do my evening visualisation now.

thanks again Jon and team 🙂

  32. Mireille Leclerc says:

Hi again, is the broth nutritious after 4 hours of cooking? Are there enzymes, vitamines, nutrients still?

  33. Chere Harbridge says:

In regards to the cod liver oil question you just talked about – I take a cod liver oil supplement…should I stop while on the cleanse?

  34. Joanne Witte says:

Can I add miso paste to the broth?

  35. Graham Howells says:

How much juice is one serve…is it just enough to feel satiated?

  36. Mireille Leclerc says:

Hi, I want to know if the “detox mode” Jon talks about is the same as a “ketosis” state?

  37. L Dabney says:

Can we use coconut butter in place of oil?

    • gabrielmethod says:

      Hi L Dabney,
Do you mean coconut butter – if so this is coconut oil. Coconut oil will solidify in colder temperatures so that it looks like butter – but as soon as it is heated it will look like an oil.
      Hope this helps.
      Best regards
      Den -The GM Team

  38. Angela Vogt says:

With the tea recipe being 4 cups, are we okay to reheat it on the stove once the coconut oil has been added?

  39. Sherie Connors says:

My Webinar ID is saying it’s invalid – copying and pasting from the email and this ID has worked every other time.

  40. Jody Plecas says:

Can’t find my webinar ID. Panic, panic.

  41. Jody Plecas says:

How do I handle having a stress test during this period?

  42. Deborah Freisinger says:

Can I add the ground flax seed to my broth or does heating it create an undesirable effect. BTW I started today and had no trouble. Never having tried anything like this I was a little concerned it would be difficult, but felt with the support of the GM team I could do it. Well it couldn’t have gone any better and I look forward to the rest of the cleanse being easy. I may have found the answers to my 50 year long struggle with my weight! Am very excited about the journey. Thanks for your guidance.

  43. Lou Empson says:

Is there a way to save the webinars for future reference?

    • gabrielmethod says:

      Hi Lou,
You own this program and can have access to all the features, including the replays of the webinars any time you want.
      Hope this helps.
      Best Regards
      Den – The GM Team

  44. Dargenstar says:

My juicer manual (Breville Juice Fountain Crush) says to peel all citrus fruit. Since almost all the juices use lemon, and peeling lemons all day seems labor intensive, do you at GM have any suggestions? Thanks. Megan

    • gabrielmethod says:

      Hi Megan,

We recommend you follow the instructions of your juicer as using it differently than what it recommends may harm it. I hope this helps!

      Best Regards
      The GM Team

  45. Katie Smith says:

Hi, I just found out I was pregnant today, so I know normally you shouldn’t detox while pregnant but this cleanse seems a bit more gentle and geared more to stabilizing our fat burning hormones, so should I not do this cleanse or would it be safe?

  46. Susan Hansen says:

Unclear when and how often to take the “Green Me Up Jonny”.
The Omega 3 drink twice a day on the schedule is the flax seed oil or chia seeds isn’t it?
    Thanks.

    • gabrielmethod says:

      Hi Susan,

You can take 2 scoops a day of Green Me Up Jonny, either 1 time a day or 1 scoop two times a day. However, this is not necessary for the Detox. The Omega 3 Drink can be with either flax seed oil or chia seeds.

      Best Regards
      The GM Team

  47. Carol Dolven says:

This is more related to the pre-cleanse and the post-cleanse. Are there specific types of nuts and seeds we should use to get some sprouting happening? I soaked some almonds and pine nuts overnight, but they didn’t sprout… but they are tasty with the hydration 🙂 Any recommended seeds or nuts to use?
    Thanks 🙂

  48. Phyllis Goble says:

In the USA, do we begin the actual juice cleanse on the morning of the 17th or 18tn? Since the live call doesn’t start until 7:30 PM, are we supposed to wait until the morning after the class to begin the juice portion of the cleanse?

    • Dargenstar says:

The morning of the 18th. I thought that too, but then heard on a webinar it was a 5 day cleanse, as I always thought, so the first cleanse webinar tonight is to prepare for tomorrow. For us in the US; elsewhere I guess it is in the beginning of their first day. Megan

    • Susan Hansen says:

It was confusing for us in the USA. So – I started
the 5 day cleanse this morning! One of the nice
things about Jon is his flexibility on the details and
easy-going approach, which I find relaxing.

      • Deborah Freisinger says:

I started today because I have a very busy Tuesday and wanted to get over the first few days which Jon has said the detox may take a few days to get into a rhythm. It has been much less difficult then I would have expected..that is what I get for letting my imagination get away with me.

    • gabrielmethod says:

      Hi Phyllis and all,

You can start and stop the Detox whenever is best for you. I hope this helps!

      Best Regards
      The GM Team

  49. Susanne says:

Refrase: Is stevia detrimental to the cleanse, when used in tea?

  50. Susanne says:

    Is stevia allowed at all?

  51. Helen Bradley says:

Regarding enemas this week. We do a flush with aloe and the do a coffee enema. Is this OK?

  52. lberman@iinet.net.au says:

Just saw the answer to my miso question below, sorry. I just wanted to point out that in the list of vegetables for the soup broth you have left out onion and garlic, you start the how to video with these two ingredients.
    Cheers
    Louise

  53. lberman@iinet.net.au says:

I have some miso paste, can I use that to make a miso soup? I noted in the ingredients it has rice so I am not sure if that is ok for the detox days. Also a question about grapeseed oil which I have, this is also able to withstand high temperatures. Would this be included in the oils that are good to cook with?
    Louise

  54. Helen Bradley says:

Hi, my ankles are Swollen, would this be part of the detox?

  55. Susanne says:

Hi, i have for some weeks made an occasional morning veggie juice, where i added ground flax and hemp seed-
it is almost like solid food, and very filling. Is that still ok for the detox, or should i use less?

    • gabrielmethod says:

      Hi Susanne,

We want to try to stick to liquid and get away from solids so you may want to use less. Jon and Nadia talk about it in Day 2 of the Core Cleansing Lessons.

      Best Regards
      The GM Team

  56. KAY PATERSON OAKES says:

Is Wakame Miso soup permitted as an alternative for the broth. The brand I have is ‘Yutaka’ (MSG and not artificial additives)
