I am a bit confused and frustrated by this information. I know we are adding good foods and not removing foods, but I feel like the more I learn the fewer food choices I have.
Similarly, I am confused about cooked food versus raw. I was continuing to eat cooked meat and fish thinking that even though it was no longer “live” at least I was getting something from it (carbs?). Is it pointless to eat cooked meat, fish and poultry? Should I also just stop eating cooked vegetables since they are only good as carbs?
I am very confused.
Hi Audrey,
It doesn’t have to be an ‘all or nothing’ approach. All of this information is to help you get a better idea of better food options. Jon eats mostly raw but does eat cooked fish and chicken as protein is so important to our diet. Sometimes you just want hot, cooked vegetables and that is fine – if that is what you want – have that and enjoy it. The aim is to try to add as much good stuff into your diet as you can, so that there is less room for the processed, nutritionally deficient packaged foods. If you are eating plenty of fruits, vegetables (both raw and cooked), omega 3’s and protein – your body should be getting what it needs. Absorb this information and then work out your own tastes and habits and tailor make something that is going to fit in with your life and be easy to maintain, and even more importantly is enjoyable!
Kind regards

This was so Interesting and comprehensive. However, I’m still paddling uphill just to hold the basics in my mind. Like the NYNY digestive section. The importance of insulin just filters throughout every aspect of our health and wellness.
What makes me happy, is that eating this way was introduced into my life so gently and easily over the months I have been active in the forum and the Ultimate Coaching. I’m just starting to grasp the conceptual bases of how GM works but the eating style is mine already.
I haven’t lost much bulk yet but I understand the triggers in my life and am diligently working on them. So, now my mind is soaking in the science of why and how…….it continues to amaze me at the volume and depth of information Provide here in the forum; let alone the opportunity for true change. The work is the journey itself, releasing bulk is just the happy ever after by product……
Oh, gush gush gush, thanks again for the expansion of thought. Sharon
Hi Sharon,
As usual, thanks for your wonderful words.
You are right – the work is the journey itself, losing weight is just a happy bi-product.
So happy you are enjoying the information being provided.
