Sharon, I too am confused. The list of ingredients says “boil whole oranges”. How many? How long do you boil the oranges? 1 minute? 5 minutes?

In the picture, it appears that the truffles are rolled in something. Maybe we mince the oranges in the processor and roll the balls in the minced orange.

I would love to make this recipe; first I need to understand it.

Hi Patricia, glad you are interested in this recipe! Jen in our test kitchen gave us more details:
Boil the orange and then peel the orange. Next you squeeze 1/4 cup of juice for the batter. Boil the orange for 5 minutes. You can roll the truffles either in pureed orange or coconut. Those truffles in the image are rolled in coconut.

Sorry, I don’t completely understand the instructions. Do you boil the orange, then puree the whole thing, peel and all, in the mixture? Any clarification would be great. The recipe sounds very tasty.

sharon I agree. recipe very confusing, BUT……… there’s a cake recipe where you boil the whole (skin n everything) orange, so I guess its the same here. Instructions read as tho you boil 1 orange. when soft, squeeze the juice, then put orange and other ingreds into the blender. Not at all clear what the balls are rolled in, but I bought some ground hemp seed the other day. Its delicious, v protein rich, and would be perfect.

by the way folks, there are easy to follow videos on utube for opening young coconuts to get the water. Cheers Jennifer
