I never thought about it till I watched your video but power bands are like a complete gym at your disposal only a lot cheaper and convenient! the poses at the end of the video remind me of the concept of putting a pencil in your mouth to simulate a smile,to raise you seratonin levels. they are very empowering positions of both joy and accomplishment! it stands to reason they would cause your body to excrete hormones that correspond to those emotions ! good information as usual Brian! thank you again and may god bless you for all your help !

    Hi Brian
I love all of your exercise and stretching routines! They are awesome!
This one with the resistant band is awesome for me, as I am also planning a trip overseas and have found a great way to keep fit!
    Keep them coming!
    Thanks again
    Hettie

Thanks for providing some exercises that I can use with my resistance bands. I have one just like the one you used in the video and also the bands without handles. I will review your video again, then look for a place to put my band around, such as a pole or other piece of apparatus, so I can use it properly.

    • Brian says:

Great Sandra, you’ll find them very beneficial. Muscle boots your immune response, increases your strength, and speeds your metabolism. Do every second day for best results. Thanks for your post. Brian

  5. Barbara Dahlke says:

Thank you so much. I have been down the last couple of days. I loved everything you taught us. I tried them and love it. Especially the power poses they are very renewing thank you so much. This was just what I needed. Barb

    • Brian says:

      My pleasure Barb.
Good place to come is the Support Group if you’re down. We all need support, and for me it’s the most valuable tool to aid in transformation. So come here often, read, learn, comment and chat to others in the forum, there’s many people in here going through much the same ‘stuff’ and sharing really helps.
My best wishes to you, now go Power Pose.
      Brian

  6. Julia says:

    Thanks Brian

That’s excellent stuff. I have a resistance band that I was given by a physiotherapist when I had subacromial bursitis (for the non-initiated that refers to a shoulder injury). I haven’t used it since the problem was resolved but I think I might just pull it out again.

You mentioned that power poses increase testosterone levels. How does that go with women? I know women have low levels of testosterone, just as men have low levels of female hormones. But do these poses increase it by the same amount in both men and women?

    Thanks… Just curious 🙂

    Julia

    • Brian says:

Hi Julia, like men the levels of testosterone fall in women also as we age. I’m not sure, and can’t find any data to answer your question if the effect is the same for both men and women. I’m more interested in the cortisol lowering as this hormone is a major trigger for FAT Program. As usual a great question…thanks Julia!
Wishing you all the best. Brian

      • Julia says:

I agree that the cortisol issue is the more pertinent. Especially since I scored 11 out of 18 for stress on Jon’s fat program trigger test. I realised after seeing that video about power poses that I often use them unconsciously, which is interesting considering I USED to have issues with low self esteem. Clearly I would benefit from using them deliberately at times when I’m not feeling so confident.

    Well! That was timely!
I’m packing for a 3 week trip to the other side of the planet and wondered what to exercise equipment to pack that would take minimal space! Thank you!
