Excellent interview
M.
This was very informative! Jon, I haven’t read your book yet, but have been listening, so do you eat any grains?
I just followed another diet plan to boost my metabolism and to help heal my body, but it called for (I eat gf) oatmeal, sprouted breads, brown rice and quinoa on certain days.
How do you feel about these?
Hi Paige,
Jon tends to stay away from these items because they cause inflammation in the body. Ezekiel bread is a good sprouted bread that usually does not cause any issues.
I hope this helps!

While transitioning off grains I have fallen in love with Sunfood Raw Coconut Wrappers, a fabulous alternative to any grain based wraps. They are raw, do not refrigerate, and they last for months. Check them out for fruit and vegetable wraps. Of course collard leaves, kale and other green leaves are also good wrappers, but now I find myself finely chopping salad makings and using that to stuff in coconut wraps. Enough rambling. Bye.
Wow Catherine,
These sound yum! Thanks for sharing.

I loved this interview! Such great information and scientific study to back it up as well. I’ve been moving in this direction to cut out grains, but it’s so challenging. I needed to see and read this to get the motivation and make real changes.
QUESTION: Is there any value or at least, much less damage when using fermented grains? Isn’t real sour dough bread fermented before baking? Sprouting the grains also makes grains more nutritious and less harmful, so I’ve been consuming sprouted breads lately. Just putting off the inevitable, but it’s an easy way to transition anyway. Thanks so much for the information!
I’m not a big fan of sour dough breads. The refrigerated sprouted grain breads are not too bad though.
I listened through twice and learned and enjoyed both times. Thank you an be sure to have Dr. Back after the release of the new book he eluded to. great information.
Hi Catherine,
Thanks for the suggestion.

Whoa! That´s what I´ve been doing all along! Cutting the fat and adding carbs. No wonder I feel hungry and anxious all the time! I know I am adicted to carbs but I would have never guessed that the solution to my issue was in fat! I´ve already got rid of the grains and processed carbs in my pantry. Now is the time for a new start. Not entirely sure of what to buy but I´ll find out. Wish me luck!
Thanks for all the great information and support!
Hi Diana,
Glad to hear you got so much out of Dr Perlmutter’s interview.
