I have watched a lot of videos at this point but believe this is one of the best. The reason I watched what I could, read your book, have bought selected programs and now finally have signed up for UCE is that because you have been through this getting healthy adventure, you are so easily conversant, give out so much useful information in what to me is in exactly the right … way (not too technical, not too dumbed down, but informed, guided by personal experience but backed up with facts) and is immediately accessible that it just makes sense. nothing contradictory.
Not about blowing smoke, but I hope this gets to UTube. I tried many times to go vegetarian but grew more and more lethargic. That you had the willpower to be a veggie for 7 years before losing weight speaks to the willpower you must have had.
What I want to say is that this video for some reason is so succinct, directed, sensible and helpful it makes me believe I can succeed.
An aside: am 6 weeks in to program and following has happened: blood pressure way down; I am becoming truly hydrated (Heather observation); resting better; skin better. Not much weight loss but salads twice a day; smoothies increasingly attractive. Anyway, this is a ramble, but just got back from store with hummus and local organic veggies – for breakfast tomorrow. Thanks. Gail
Yay!!! Jon, thank you so much! This has been my biggest stumbling block, not knowing quite what to do food-wise, vegetarian-wise as I proceed with the Gabriel method. I’ve needed to know because I definitely crave dead carbs and you’ve given me some information I was missing. Hearing this is a huge relief. One question: hummus. I was thinking you recommend avoiding beans. Is that right? I mean, I love hummus, so can you say a few words about having beans?
I eat a lot of hummus. It’s chickpeas and sesame seeds and I love sesame seeds. The chickpeas are best if they are slightly sprouted. They are less starchy that way, but in general, chickpeas don’t feel to me as starchy as many other beans.
