I currently juice my own. I still am not to a place where I can drink the greens without a touch of sweetness, but I have been slowly lowering the amounts to get less and less of the fruits and more and more of the greens. This is my current favorite:

    1 apple
    1 handful fresh wheatgrass
    1 handful kale
    1 handful spinach
    1/4 cucumber
    1 knob of ginger

I juice all of that, then put it in a blender with 1 tbsp hemp protein powder, 1 tbsp fresh ground flax seed and 1/2 an avocado.

I love this drink at lunchtime! It is a real energy booster, but is so smooth and thick, very creamy. It’s lovely.

    That’s my post-workout shake:
    – 100ml coconut water
    – 300ml unsweetened almond milk
    – 1tsp SunWarrior Super Green
    – 1tsp cinnamon
    – 2tsp unsweetened cacao powder
    – 2tsp flaxseed oil or hempseed oil
    – 1 scoop SunWarrior Protein Powder
    – A few drops liquid stevia

why do you need both super greens, what’s the difference in them?

    • Denaleigh -Gabriel Method Team says:

      Hi Bailaweiss,
You don’t have to use two super greens – Jon has chosen two because they each have ingredients that they other doesn’t have and he is just wanting to get as many nutrients as possible. Also, one of these super greens is cacao flavoured – so it is also a case of mixing the powders for a flavour he enjoys. You need to find a super green or combination that works for you. I hope this helps.

It has taken some time for me to get the right combination but here is what I am using for energy and it makes me feel fantastic:
3-5 tsp of powdered organic Spirulina from Organika
1 tsp of Schinoussa Sea Vegetables (green label)
2 scoops Garden of Life Cacoa Super greens
    1 tbsp GM powdered greens
2 scoops Garden of Life Cacoa protein powder

I add 3 tall glasses of water with it. I have 1 glass with 1/2 Avocado for breakfast then have a glass mid morning and mid afternoon for a pick me up. Works really well with no blood sugar spikes and helps with having energy and a clear head.

It does take getting used to but it is worth it!

Can you add closed captioning to these videos please?

    • Denaleigh -Gabriel Method Team says:

      Hi Fern,
We don’t currently provide closed-captioning, but thank you for the feedback. We hope it will be something we can provide in the future.
      Kind regards

Thanks Jon! Question. When you say find your own thing that works, is this just about taste/palateabilty or is it also about how it feels?

    • Denaleigh -Gabriel Method Team says:

      Hi Jeff,
      Great question!
It means both – it has to be something that works for you, that you won’t mind having and how your body feels afterwards.
      I hope this helps.

  8. Dianne McNaughton says:

Thank you. Your video so inspiring. Tomato, onion and lemon juice. Really nice. Avocado would make a guacamole drink. Does adding non-greens make the green drink less effective?

    • Denaleigh -Gabriel Method Team says:

      Hi Dianne,
As long as you are having plenty of greens, adding other coloured vegetables is a wonderful idea. The more variety you can add to your diet the more nutrients you are giving your body.

  9. Dianne McNaughton says:

I find the “Green Me Up Jonny” drink quite tasty on its own, but lemon or lime juice added is even nicer. The avocado sounds good too, and would add a lovely creamy texture to it.

  10. Patricia Barber says:

    Try adding avocado.

  11. Anne Hannan says:

The thing is I don’t find drinks help curb hunger pangs. Even when I have a green smoothie at breakfast time I still need to eat something or I will be hungry and mid-morning I am always really, really hungry.

    • Denaleigh -Gabriel Method Team says:

      Hi Anne,
Perhaps try adding protein powder and or Chia seeds to your green smoothie at breakfast? However, it is okay to still eat something along with your smoothie at breakfast – so don’t worry about that. These super green drinks are not meant to be a meal replacement – they are just something to have during the day when you would normally stop to have a cup of tea or coffee or when you are just needing a pick-me-up.
      I hope this helps.

      • Anne Hannan says:

Thanks Den I’ll try the Chia Seeds. What type of protein powder would you recommend? I live in Ireland.

        • Denaleigh -Gabriel Method Team says:

          Hi Anne,
The best protein powders are unsweetened and unflavoured and are made from whey or hemp. Jon’s favourite brand is Warrior – you may be able to get that online? But don’t worry if you are not able to get that brand, just go to your local Health Food Store and ask for a good quality protein powder as per the description above.
There are plenty of types available.
          Hope this helps

  12. Anne Hannan says:

Thank you for this. How about having a green smoothie to help build up to the super greens drink?

  13. Claire says:

Thanks for this suggestion. I bought some supergreens powder yesterday, and despite the colour it actually tasted quite palatable. I also had more energy for the afternoon, and did not want to eat sugary things, that I normally go for at 4pm

  14. wibeamen f says:

I can relate. Started drinking a green juice with Dandelion/parsley/ lemon juice. It tastes rough….. But did notice the energy pick up, and that was cool.

    Thanks
